For the University of Iowa's "European Ceramic Studio", CRETA Rome devised a specialised course on maiolica with the help of professor Andrew Casto. During the two-week program, museum visits and PowerPoints explored the history of maiolica through the centuries. The program included practical workshops making maiolica and mazza maiolica pieces, decorated with motifs inspired by the museum visits and presentations.
