For her show, Australian artist Ellie Tessa Godworth AIR 2015 chose the title: Line fo the Arch: Exploring Rudimentary Ceramics”.
“Line of the Arch consists of a series of small scale sculptures inspired by the silhouettes of arches, doorways and passageways encountered around Rome.
Individual titles of pieces were directly inspired by the novel ‘Invisible Cities’ ; Italo Calvino.
The work is a result of a period of experimentation with material and elements of sculpture. I am interested in an understanding of architectural form and the various linear elements and shapes that intersect within the architectural space. The sculptures incorporate ceramics, metal and found objects.”
