Molly Bishop AIR 2016 chose “Secret Garden” as the title of her show. Inspired by the Villa Borghese and the Greek vases that she saw in museums, she created improbable vignettes of subtle humour. “My work during my time at c.r.e.t.a. has been an exploration of “flat-pots,” clay drawings that are a play on two and three dimensions. My time in Rome has inspired a collection of vignettes. The individual ceramic pieces come together to create a world where manicured parks and lush jungles set the scene for luxury, indulgence, and solitude.”
