Two promising artists in Rome:
Alison Hatfield Young: The Functions of Rituals
Jordan Pruett: Vessels of Ritual
Alison Hatfield Young is an American ceramic artist based in Baltimore, where she received her BFA in Ceramics from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She has worked for various arts organizations including Baltimore Clayworks and The Walters Art Museum as an arts educator. After group shows in the States, this fall she will be exhibiting her artwork in Rome, Florence and the south of France. After her residency at c.r.e.ta. Rome, Young will be an artist in residence at Vallauris Institute of Arts.
Jordan Pruett recently completed his BFA in Ceramics from the University of Michigan. He has exhibited widely in Michigan, including the Michigan Clay & Porcelain Artist’s Invitational. This is his first exhibition in Italy and also his first residency program. He is dedicating this year to the creation of an extended body of work. This portfolio will aid him in his future endeavors as he continues his education in graduate school.
